Privacy Policy
What we collect
- Parent account: your email address and a hashed password.
- Children: first name, an avatar letter, optional age, and chore/allowance activity inside your family. We do not collect children's emails, photos, birthdates, or location.
- Usage: coarse, family-level events (e.g. "a chore was approved") to understand whether the product is useful. These never identify an individual child.
- Billing: payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. Stripe receives the parent's email and card details — never anything about your children. We store only subscription status, never card numbers.
How we use it
To run the app for your family, to contact the parent about the service, and to learn whether ChoreMojo is worth building further. We do not sell or share your data, and we do not show third-party ads.
Children's data (COPPA)
A parent creates the account, adds each child, and consents on their behalf; children never sign up themselves. At account creation the parent confirms they are the child's parent or legal guardian, and the card verification at subscription checkout serves as verifiable parental consent. We keep a record of that consent — when it was given, how, and which version of this policy it covered. We deliberately minimize what we store about children.
Retention & deletion
We keep your data while your family uses ChoreMojo. Any parent can download a full copy of the family's data from the Family page ("Download my family's data"). The family owner can permanently delete the entire family from the same page — deletion is immediate and irreversible. Prefer email? Contact us and we'll take care of it.
